I feel quite sad. Not sure how to react to the deer with its eyes half open. What if I were the deer? Dead on the ground, a car flash by-- a camera shot of me? What is the grass whispering, couldn't hear.
Ick. I'm not sure how you got that close to it without throwing up. It's definitely a powerful image. I couldn't even keep it up on my screen very long.
without fresh light, the deer will not be clear to our eyes. Anyway, the deer might be muddered by something. If that was human, we would have horrorable feeling. however, we dont have that strong feeling of the picture. maybe i dont have strong bad feeling. Maybe, we get used to kill animal just like hobby.
I think the picture focus on those situation which we kill animal so open without guiltyness.
The title cracks me up. It doesn't seem like an appropriate picture to be making a pun about and I think thats why I like it so much. The detail of the bruises on the deer adds a lot too.
I dont really care to look at dead things. I dont really think thats art either. Just because its gross and unwanted doesnt automatically give it some greater meaning and therefore justify it as art. I guess my beef here is with art's ambiguity and not the pic of a dead animal.
I thought the framing of the portrait was very thoughtful, it left out the head which I thought was a good because no body wants to attach themselves with this carcass. I also thought the title was appropriately inappropriate. I liked the fact that it was misleading.

It is an interesting shot. What is the story behind it? I can say once I logged on this picture immediately caught my eye.
